EC welcomes UGC's document on Hong Kong higher education
The Education Commission (EC) met today (February 4) to
exchange views on the document entitled "Hong Kong Higher
Education - To Make a Difference, To Move with the Times"
by the University Grants Committee (UGC) and welcomed its
release.
"Hong Kong's higher education has entered into a new
era. I would like to thank the Chairman and Members of the
UGC for their invaluable contribution to the drawing up of
a clear roadmap steering the higher education sector towards
greater role differentiation but deeper collaboration among
institutions, and achieving an international competitive edge
and excellence in areas of strength," Dr Rosanna Wong,
the Chairman of the EC said.
"We hope that the higher education institutions could
work hand in hand in facing the changes and challenges of
the new era and developing Hong Kong into an education hub
of the region."
"We are fully supportive of the UGC's proposals, and
look forward to receiving whole-hearted support and co-operation
from the higher education sector," she added.
