The Government today (December 31) announced the appointments of two non-official members to the Education Commission (EC).

Newly appointed to EC is Mr Chu Fu-yau, the Chairman of Hong Kong Subsidised Secondary Schools Council and Principal of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School, while Mr Moses Cheng, Senior Partner of P.C. Woo & Co., is re-appointed. They are appointed in their personal capacities for a term of two years with effect from January 1, 2005.

The Secretary for Education and Manpower, Professor Arthur K C Li, said, "With these two members' rich experience in the education and professional sectors of the community, I am confident that they will be able to provide valuable advice and contribute to the work of the Commission."

Professor Li also thanked the outgoing member, Dr Anissa Chan, for her contribution to the work of EC.
