The Government announced today (29 April) the re-appointment of Dr Rosanna Wong Yick-ming, JP as the Chairman of the Education Commission (EC) for a term of two years from May 1, 2005 to April 30, 2007.

Dr Wong took up the chairmanship of the EC on May 1, 2001.

The Secretary for Education and Manpower, Professor Arthur Li said, "We are grateful for Dr Wong's able leadership, strong commitment and valuable contribution to the work of the EC."

"Under Dr Wong's leadership, the EC continues to give the Government valuable advice on education policies and implementation priorities, as well as the coordination of the work of various major education bodies to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the Education Reform."

"Dr Wong's re-appointment as the EC Chairman will help ensure the continuity of the education reform," he said.
