The following is issued on behalf of the Education Commission:

The Education Commission (EC) at its meeting today (Monday) further discussed the review of the education system.

The Chairman, Mr Antony Leung, said: "We are now in the course of considering various proposals relating to the overall framework of the academic system, curriculum and assessment at various stages of education.

"We plan to consult the public before the end of September this year on our proposed reform framework for the education system," he added.

At today's meeting, EC also noted the report submitted by the Curriculum Development Council to the Government, and provided comments on the way forward, in particular, on how to tie in with the overall direction of the review of the education system.
