The Chairman of the Education Commission (EC), Dr David Wong, and members of the EC participated in the Learning and Teaching Expo (LTE) 2025 on 2 July 2025 to learn about the application of educational resources and technologies in learning and teaching. The LTE is not only an annual signature event of the education sector but also the flagship event of the Government’s inaugural “Digital Education Week”, promoting digital transformation in education. It gathers scholars, education leaders and experts from around the globe to explore innovative pedagogy and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, thereby fostering cross-sector collaboration to enhance the quality of learning and teaching through technology and shape a brighter future for education.

 

After attending the opening ceremony of the LTE, the EC members visited various exhibition booths, including those featuring the Digital Education Centre of Excellence, Hong Kong Education City and the Quality Education Fund e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme, as well as had discussions and exchanges with students, teachers and exhibitors to gain an in-depth understanding of future classroom solutions, applications of AI in education, and the outcomes of cross-disciplinary, cross-departmental and cross-domain collaboration in digital education. The EC members expressed their appreciation for the insights shared by scholars and industry experts on digital education, as well as the innovative applications of educational technology showcased by students and teachers across various disciplines.

 

Dr Wong expressed strong support for the Government’s continued commitment to deepening the integration of innovative technology in education, promoting high-quality development of digital education and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics) education in schools, and nurturing talent in innovation and technology, equipping Hong Kong to integrate into the country’s overall development.
